Volunteers are the foundation of our organization. There are many ways for people of all genders, ages, and abilities to get involved with Girls Rock! Indy both at summer camp and throughout the year.
VOlunteer at camp!
Hands-on volunteer roles for summer camp include band managing, camp counseling, teaching a workshop, instrument instruction, and performing for our campers.
Camp is a blast for both campers and volunteers!
Volunteer Year Round!
You can also help out throughout the year with event planning, fundraising, marketing, and more by joining a committee or event team! No matter your skills, interests, or availability, there is room for you to help out!
NO MUSICAL EXPERIENCE NECESSARY
GRI works to flip the script on expertise. We not only include but encourage people with no musical background to volunteer.
Our volunteers are camper dads, camp alumni, Women’s Studies students, local musicians, unapologetic feminists, students, social workers, music fans, artists, moms, social justice activists, women who wish they had Rock Camp for Girls when they were young, and people who generally support girls empowerment. Our volunteers are YOU.
Girls Rock! Indianapolis is most importantly a mentorship organization and we strive to provide excellent and realistic role models for all of our campers.
We invite individuals who self-identify as female, transgender or gender variant to apply for roles with direct contact to the campers during our Summer Rock Camp. This includes band managing, camp counseling, and workshop instruction.
Additionally, we welcome and greatly value individuals of any gender identity to volunteer in so many other ways. These roles include helping out at events, working on band equipment, and serving on a committee or the board of directors.
Girls Rock! Indianapolis is an LGBTQI inclusive and affirming organization, and we are committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for everyone. We appreciate your understanding and are always interested in an ongoing conversation about gender.
