** Summer 2020 Girls Rock Indy Camp applications will close at midnight on July 17. **

GRI Suggestion Box

We are now opening a suggestion box for parents, campers, and volunteers for the upcoming camp season. We want to make Girls Rock! as fun and inclusive as possible so your feedback is highly appreciated!

Girls Rock Indy Camp is a day camp for girls* ages 9-16. Campers come for a week-long crash course in instrument instruction, songwriting, and musical collaboration. Additionally, our workshops and lessons focus on confidence building, empowerment, and leadership skills through the lens of music education. Camp culminates with a Saturday Showcase in which campers will perform their original song with their band on-stage before a live audience. Campers do not need to have any prior music experience, and instruments will be provided.

A $10.00 non-refundable application fee is due at the time of application.

Camp tuition is $325.00 for one camper to attend one week of camp and is not paid until your application has been accepted for camp. Financial aid is available, with tuition starting at as little as $50. Tuition is due by May 31st, 2020.

*including trans and non-binary youth

Amplifier Program (Counselors In Training)

This track is limited, and is open to applicants in or entering high school who have previously attended Girls Rock! summer camps. Successful applicants will enjoy the full experience of writing and performing a song, and will also have exclusive access to leadership workshops and activities.

Camper Selection / Notification

You will be notified of your camper's acceptance to the program in early April after all of the applications have been processed. If all the steps of the application process are completed in a timely manner, the likelihood that your camper will be accepted is high. Campers are selected by a committee seeking to establish a balanced and diverse camp population, we accept campers based on a number of criteria including the date we receive your application (the application period runs from Jan 27 - March 9), the popularity of your child's first choice of instrument, and the popularity of the age group your camper falls into (camp is divided into two age groups plus the counselor-in-training track). Although this camp serves girls and marginalized genders, Girls Rock! Indianapolis does not discriminate based on race, beliefs, or ability to pay. Please see our diversity statement on the home page. We do retain a handful of spots for late applications from families from underserved communities. If your application is initially unsuccessful, you will be placed on a waiting list and notified if a space becomes available.
